Lent masturbation?!

Question: I am a dedicated christian and I decided to give up masturbation for lent because i feel like it has distanced me more from christ. I've been going solid for something like 10 days, but im starting to feel the urge to go for it again. I've heard some people say that you can do it on sundays but i'm not so sure. Do you think that i should do it on sunday if i can't wait any longer or just keep trying to push myself all the way?

I'm less than a quarter of the way through lent and i dont know how much longer i can last

I can't remember if not observing your lent "abstaining" is ok on Sundays or not. But if you think about it - if only doing it Sundays is less than you normally do it then your are achieving a better result than if you didn't abstain at all. Humans aren't perfect & as you are a christian you will understand God knows that. I don't know what age you are but if you are under 50 - 10 days straight is a good effort. All the best.

just please yourself.
go ahead.

I view it as cheating if you do it on the Sundays. The same philosophy can be applied to test taking, If someone taking a test goes to the bathroom halfway through, pulls out a sheet of things which are on the test and looks at them for 5 minutes it is considered cheating.

But in the end it is up to you. Mind of matter!

Tests are something we can live without. Before going through with your plan please review the article I have placed in my sources list.

I think personally that giving up masturbating for Lent (or Ramadan) is silly. I'd think the Lord would rather we do good works in His name than waste engergy with meaningless (and unnatural) self-sacrifice.

dude,
i tried this once
not pretty
lasted less than a week

God doesn't care if you masturbate, its OK
check this site for a good christian view, not preachy

lolol yes you can do it on sundays a lot of churchs adopt that rule that u can have whatever you gave up for lent on sunday ololol i also gave up masturbation for lent but valentines day ruined it so good luck youve already made it farther than i have

Well, if you want to masterbate, do it. Has nothing to do with religion. This concept of giving something up during "Lent" is something someone made up so do what you want. If you read wikipedia's explanation, then your sundays would be days you could give up your abstinence.

I do not believe that you are distanced from christ because you masturbate. Don't suffer, just do it, I am sure God does not mind.

Just on Sundays...I thought you were serious up to that point. Yeah...go ahead and pick sunday as the day for sin.......god likes that......good grief.

dont' suffer, just do it.

wow i feel for you.... i could never last 10 days, i tried it and only made it 1 n1/2 days trying my hardest lol.

But its all up to you, that would be quite and accomplishment if you made it all the way through.

Hey there! Thanks for picking me as best answer on your earlier question. Let me take a stab at this one.

According to King of Peace Episcopal Church in Georgia, whatever you give up for Lent you can do on Sundays in Lent. "This is because Sundays are celebrations of Jesus
