Answers: Had a colonoscopy, and had 1 polyp, I am curious if I am destined for coloncancer
No just a sore backside for a while. Polyps are very common and once theyre taken away, not usually any more probs. Scary for you but dont worry. X
Some doctors consider polyps to be an early precursor to colon cancer but that is why they remove any large ones or ones that are growing. They do not always convert to malignancy........ Make sure that you have a good amount of fiber in your diet and if you do not have parents or siblings that have had colon cancer, you basically have the same risk that the rest of us do.
also had a colonoscopy and had two polyps.Removed them and not cancer.Doesn't mean your destined to have cancer. You just wwill have have the procedure done maybe every three years now.don't worry
Was the polyp removed? Polyps can turn cancerous if undetected. If the polyp was not removed you should have a repeat colonoscopy within 2 years to keep a watch on it. Most polyps are not cancerous. No I don't think you are destined for colon cancer. Just make sure to keep all following colonoscopy appointments.
Only if the polyp is malignant, have you gotten a biopsy? Don't say your destined for cancer because some are benign
they can cause colon cancer so get them removed
