This is not a joke: Will my pubic hairs bald when I'm older?!

Question: Please only answer if your head has been bald for four or more years. I was in the shower earlier today, and I was thinking, (duh) and an odd thought came up. Men's heads bald, so why wouldn't their pubic regions? I hope not. This question may sound rather odd, but the guidelines say that no one 13 or younger will be reading, so I figure why not? Asking my dad would be way too awkward.

It is possible to lose hair anywhere on your body, however, loss of pubic hair is not medically related to male pattern baldness. In fact, Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the hormone that is responsible for male pattern baldness as well as growth of facial and body hair. There are other types of baldness that are not related to DHT and can effect pubic and other body hair, but most of the time, when you see a bald man it is a result of excessive DHT which ironically enough causes the growth of pubic hair. So I would not worry about losing my pubic hair if I were you. Even if you do develop male pattern baldness some day, it is unlikely that you will lose hair elsewhere on your body. In fact, you may experience additional growth.
