Movie-induced Bathroom Breaks?!
Question: It seems that every time I watch a full length movie (at the theater or at home) I have to urinate several times throughout the movie. It doesn't matter what the liquid I drink is, it has happened with soda AND water. I'm just curious about what may be the cause of this. Any speculation?

If this is happening only when your in the movies then it's probably slightly anxiety related. You REALLY don't want to have to keep on going! So there for you need to...
Like when your nervous you need to pee quite a lot. Before an interview you may go a few times before you leave.
Because you've identified this as an anomalous problem your more fixated on it than you should be.
If this happens out side of the movie experience it could be a couple of things.
Shrunk bladder. The more you go, the more you need to go. Rate your urgency 1-10 and try to wait for a 8-9 before going. Eventually your bladder will be able to acomadate more fluid.
Related to the movie conundrum. I find it common that before i watch a movie, i go and drain off despite maybe being only a 4-6 on urgency. Yet i find i need to go again shortly after... This could be for two reasons...
Stuck in traffic? Your caffeinated soft drink and what ever you drank earlier that day hadn't filtered to your bladder yet when you last went.
And of course the old "breaking the seal" phenomenon. You know the one, you go the pub and it's an hour or two before you first need the toilet, but after you make that first trip your going every 30 mins or so...
Don't worry, getting hung up about it is just making it worse.
hahah very simple. when you are stressed, your digestive system and ur kidenys dont work well. But when you relax, then you digest better and ur kidneys work very fast creating urin. then u got to pee when your in a movie.
iibit..( the guy above me) COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!!!!u are "movie shy" ...i used to get tht as a kid....if u see a gory scene or a scence with nudity or sexuality it excites ur body...excitement, fear, all affect ur bladder...
Well, I think apart from the psychoanalysis and the biological take on it, you said it yourself--you're drinking liquid! Drinking anything is going to make you have to urinate, no noticeable difference between soda pee and water pee!
Boy, this brings back memories. I use to have the same problem. And it always seemed to be in the most interesting part of the movie. I don't know anxiety ,joy or what, but it happens.
