If it is definetly blood, and if it is pure blood that is being expelled from the anus in high amounts, then that is a good reason to go to the hospital, and quickly. It could be a sign of internal bleeding, which has its own causes. I don't want to worry you, but you know it's not good when there are high amounts of blood being expelled from any orifice of the body!
G0ddamn Champn needs to really see a doctor. As soon as possible.
I would say a MAJOR case of the hemroids or cancer, ur friend better not miss that appt.

Whoever they are, Thursday is too long to wait. Get them or yourself to an emergency room, like RIGHT NOW.

Emergency room is the way to go.. If you're no longer even defacating, but just passing blood through the anus, that's not a good sign. Although he says it's been happening for weeks? It may be internal bleeding or an ulcer. Sometimes there are various conditions in the intestines and bowel which cause bleeding out of the back passage. Whatever it is, he needs to see a doctor now, rather than Thursday. This is an urgent problem and your friend needs medical attention.
