Both sexes have estrogen in them just as both sexes have testosterone in them....guys have the bits that make more testosterone and girls have the bits that make more estrogen........so here's the thing.......there is an enzyme in the body called the aromatase enzyme that can trigger the conversion of testosterone into estrogen......estrogen has it's purpose and place in the male body but too much and you can start to develop female characteristics so if you pump your body full of testosterone (on top of what your body creates naturally) there is a greater chance that the conversion will take place and although you are increasing the amount of testosterone you are also increasing the amount of estrogen in the body. Some body builders will take supplements that have an anti-aromatase function in the body to prevent the conversion to take place. Now another peril of supplementing the body with hormones instead of supporting your natural production is that the body will get triggered to not produce as much as it normally would because it's getting it from outside sources and so those parts of the body that produce the hormone might atrophy and that is why sometimes you hear it said that if you shoot up with steroids your testicles will shrink.
