Is it bad to weightlift if you think you're sick?!

Question: It technically depends on the symptoms and sicnkess, but I wouldn't recommend exerting yourself too much when sick. You should let your body focus on powering the immune system to fight off the bacteria or virus causing sickness so that it doesn't get worse.

--Also keep in mind that if you are sick and you go to a gym, you are potentially spreading your infection to everyone who uses the equipment after you and everyone you come in contact with. The responsible thing to do would be abstain from working out until you either know you aren't contagious or feel better.

Yes definately, if you sneeze you might pull your back out.

Seriously though...you need to be more specific. What kind of sickness? It truly depends on the severity of the illness. I would probably also be asking my doctor instead of asking people who have NO history of your medical conditions.

You should avoid the stress of strenuous exercise when you are sick. And if you work out at the gym, stay home.

no just dnt over do it

as long as you dont make yourself sick to death. exercise can be helpful for the immune system.

working out is stress, and stress hampers your immune system. personally, if i can i train right thru illness. when you have to meet goals to be ready for events, you can't afford to break training. my cycles tend to build as time passes. if i dont do this weeks work, i wont be able to do the next week's. the only time i make an exception is if i am so ill that i just can't.
