Yes, I've had it and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. After 5 hours the pain was so great that I cried and had to go to the hospital for an injection to release the pressure.

Well, as far as i remember, i have seen 2 patients of PRIAPISM in my career.
Clinically there are many causes responsible for this condition, specially it occurs in Anxious (mostly suffering from Manic Deppressive Disorder <MDD>) persons.
The immediate treatmen (which i have performed on those cases) is administration of Intravenous DIAZEPAM (i.e. by injection) at the spot but in a very little amount that should be suggested by observing the age, weight, & mental status of the patient.
