Is it healthy to drop 30 pounds in a month and a half?!

Question: I've dropped 30 pounds in a month and a half. I'm told by friends that this isn't healthy, but I feel physically fit. I'm not making myself sick after meals, I'm just cutting calories and exercising more yet people are still insisting that it can't be good for my body. What's the real beef, so to speak?

While I envy you, I would be wary, as you may run the risk of gaining more weight soon. It MIGHT happen, but if you are really doing all these things, I would just pay attention to your potassium, magnesium, and sodium levels, as well as any vitamin depletion. Maybe take a mineral supplement or increase the type of foods high in these minerals just to be sure. That IS a lot of weight in such a short period of time, but every body is different. If you get tired easily, then remember what I just said.

its happened and i never had health problems. it just depends on how fast you can burn fat cells.

well to be honest i had the same problem and it was due to stress it made me not want to eat and when i got hungry it kinda just wasent interesting i would ignore my hunger but that can cause malnutrition and some other stuff if your just not eating

that's about 5 pounds a week which isn't bad at all but if u were to lose that in say 3-4 weeks your immune system could become very weak and that's what hap to my friend who had to cut alotta weight for wrestling in a short period of time.
so i believe your fine keep doing what your doing!

In general that would not be healthy, unless you started out with a huge amt of weight to lose. If you continue losing weight at this pace, you will probably end up sick, although it is pretty unhealthy to be overweight, too! Just make sure you are eating some protein and plenty of fruits and veggies, and stay hydrated.
