Losing weight and becoming more fit.?!

Question: Can anyone tell me a good workout routine to help me lose weight. I have access to a gym, where I do use the elyptical machine there, but I want something more and I am not too sure what to do. I mainly need to lose weight, and get a lot more fit. If you have any Ideas, please post them. Thanks!

Hi Mason. For reducing body fat you cannot beat a controlled diet. The exercise compenent is important because it helps motivate your metabolic rate, even while you rest.

The best form of exercise for this purpose is a cardio workout that using large muscle groups... so cycling, running, swimming and rowing are all good. Also, it is confirmed that interval training yields the best results. This means upping your heartrate to a higher level (90%) for 2 minutes and then reducing effort until it lowers to about 65% (3 minutes) and then upping the effort again to 90% for 2 minutes .. repeat this process for 45 minutes at least.

The more muscle you build.. the higher your calorie burn.. so it helps to also do some weigth training.

Now.. you can see that this quickly gets out of control.... you need to do around 3 or 4 cardio sessions or more a week.. and tow weight session a week is minimal for that component... and once you start.. you tend to get addicted after a while and you put in more... Im currently doing 12 hours a week at the gym.. and its rediculous but Im hooked... and Ive been doing that for some time now.

Try to start by doing 3 cardio sessions a week... it is always difficult at first but you do start to see results.

if you're looking to build muscle, focus on that first and just do lots of cardio, any form of cardio do 30min a day or like an hour every other day and you should be set

if u wanna get fit ands gym is boring . join a sports club

boxing keep ya fit and u learn how to pack a punch

basketball another good one

of u can swimm that will burn away fat and wont have any heavy inpact on the joints and bones

Gud old fashioned SEX!!! This will Tone U up, Keep ya Flexiable..U burn 140 Calories, on an average session, more if U do 2Hrs or more..

Far More enjoyable than the Gym....

The best thing is to find things that you enjoy. If you are having fun you will be alot more motivated to continue doing it. Consider joining a sports team, taking up a martial art or try a variety of activities (swimming, running, stair climbs, hiking, tennis etc), find whats the most fun for you and stick to it.

All sound good, the sex one too, for my money swimming and boxing cannot be beat. Swimming is the best for that every day or two workout, gives you a sound mind and good body. Boxing though, running, jump rope, the bag and sparing is just the ticket if you like to mug it up a bit and don't mind giving as good as you get. You can always just do the routine and you will feel great. You have to eat right too. To lose weight and stay sharp, fish ( trout, talopia, scrod, swordfish and salmon) vegetables, ruduce your sugars and sweets (substitute sex here) good rice my choice too, plain food does not have to make you fat, if you eat in moderation.
But sugars will kill you and so will saturated fat in junk food.
Above all else don't be seditary . get up out always stay busy, carpentry, lawn work, wash your own car too. Hope this help
