you dont have to eat specific foods. i went to boarding school and i ran everyday, cut out sweets, and lifted weights 5 days a week working on different body parts. i was 6'7 280, and in 4 months i was 235. i ate steak, ribs, chicken, all that stuff including salad and the wack stuff,. but its all about portion control. the actual serving size for a bowl of cereal is actually pretty small. the actual serving size for some steak is about the palm of your hand. i ate snacks inbetween meals like power bars to keep your metabolism going. but when i tell you i worked out, i worked out! i played on the basketball team, i lifted weights, i played football and i ran allot. and the only things i changed really was the size of my meals and cut out refined sugars. pain never felt so good, trust me!

crack?

Work out, try to eat healthy. Eat things that are high in protein and fiber. The protein helps repair your muscles, and the fiber helps you feel more full longer. Eat vegetables, try to eat more whole grains.

Main thing to keep in mind is cut calories, but only a healthy amount. Don't try to starve yourself, b/c it really won't help in the long run, and when you're not feeding your body enough calories, your body feeds on muscle, not belly fat.

Don't get discouraged either, it takes a while to lose belly fat... it's hard, but stick with it.

one thing i've done to lose weight is cut out junk food completely! i'm a XL guy myself, and i LOVE food, but trust me, once you do this and COMMIT to it, its totally worth it. First of all I stopped eating fast food, thats junk, its poison! dont eat that stuff.....then i stopped drinking everything except water...thats right all i drink is water..... at first it was hard to get used to but, it takes time...when you eat a meal you dont want to drink your calories...all your calories should be in your food...that means dont drink SODA! and punch..lemonade...teas.....and especially gatorade...can have just as much sugar as soda...now i do have milk....2% not whole, but only with ceral which i eat like once or twice a week....so the fact that it's 2% isnt a problem for me...if you like milk get 1%..thats the best..not nonfat...that REALLY taste like water..lol...Also i started controlling my portions and what i put in my body...i do not eat any processed sugar (sweets) at all.....there are alot of other substitutes..you could eat those 100 calorie packs of snack food...they're really good and they come in various brands ( oreo, chips ohoy, i even think they have some kind of hostess snack too..)
plus i eat fruit! whatever is your favorite fruit, eat it! it helps...
but there are some healthy foods that contain ALOT of potassium (high salt) and they can be bad for you, like citrus fruits, oranges, avocados, tomatoes, and such so watch your intake on even the healthy stuff.

I also do streches....to get rid of love handles, and i've lost two pant sizes, and one shirt size, since christmas...
do side to side streches, and toe touching streches, those help get rid of your love handles, and belly, while helping your back, and tightening your calves...

im a big guy so this isnt easy..i've lost 20 pounds since christmas..and inches around my waist...its worth it dude

(i havent even started to exercise yet)
thats the next step.....
