Is there any way to force myself to urinate?!

Question: I'm currently in high school, and ever since middle school I have been unable to urinate in public bathrooms if I was not alone. It is very uncomfortable for me. As much as I want to, my body just won't release. Just the other day, I had to urinate in a cup in front of an observer for a physical exam for the USMC. After an hour and many cups of water, I was finally able to go. I had to continue applying pressure as it finally came out, and it was very hard for me to do. Is there any way at all that I can force myself to urinate? Perhaps press a certain part of my body? By the way, my bladder was FULL. In fact, just a few minutes after I urinated, I had to go again. Same after that. Every time I was urinating for at least 3 minutes. The last two times came at ease as I was in a private bathroom. Any advice is welcome, thanks.

Shy bladder syndrome. It is a pain, been there, done that for a number of years. Nothing you can push or prod, it is an internal plumbing system and you can't make it go any better. My solution was to train myself to pee at the urinal by closing my eyes and counting to 20, with the goal of releasing the stream by the 20 count. Used this method for several months, and now really don't have any issue. Also helps to get more comfortable around other guys while undressed, which if you go in the marines you will have to anyway and become used to peeing and showering and using the stool in front of other guys.
So if you are going in, you really need to work on the shy bladder issue. Other guys won't notice if you have your eyes closed, or if they do they won't say since obviously they were looking at you which is taboo at the urinals anyway. Good luck!

you said you were trying to apply pressure..?

i think the key is to relax and let the pee go on its own..

pressure is squeezing it in...

From experience, I know the only way to do so is to mentally relax, which unfortunatelly is difficult if you're at a urinal wanting to do so because other people are there.

Unfocus your mind completely and think about something else entirely is what works best for me, once I'm no longer trying to pee, I actually find it comes out freely.

Edit: think about something relaxing which is conducive to flowing, like a river or stream or a waterfall, and you will very likely pee.

Normally, it's best to simply take a deep breath, relax, and let the world fall away. It's best to just let go of your insecurities.

Perhaps you suffer from "bashful bladder". If the problem worsens you might be well advised to see an urologist.
