Circumcision Concerns?!

Question: Hello, I have had problems with my Frener band tearing and i am sick of it. Anyways im going to get a circumcision done sometime soon and i wanted to know if anybody could help me out. I am terrified of the thought of getting my penis "chopped" so i was wondering if there is anyway they can "Put me under" so i am not concious during the operation? any help related to this would be greatly appreciatied, and yes i am very sure i want to do this, i cannot have a normal sex life the way things are going now.

I was circumcised as an adult too as I had a problem. The short answer is YES.

You do indeed get a choice of anesthetic, just make your wishes known to the doctor and they will give you a General if that's what you would prefer.

The area they operate on will also be given a shot of Local anesthetic before you wake up so you will not feel anything for the first few hours. I chose to stay awake during my procedure (but kept my eyes shut!) and it was about as painfull as a trip to the dentist. I was very surprised as I expected to suffer the torments of the damned. Afterwards I felt a dull ache and was bruised and swollen for about two weeks. Recovery is long and tedious but the end result is good.

I know exactly how you feel as I am not that fond of needles or sharp objects either, but it wasn't as bad as I feared.

You may find the FAQ on this site usefull as several people describe there experiences and offer advice. This site is a good place to gather information.

I am very sorry you are having to go through this procedure too but if you've got pain/bleeding like I did and have no other options then you are being very brave and are doing exactly the right thing (and yes I know many anti-circ folk will disagree, sorry guys but it's down to personal choice).

It may help you to know that I am now very pleased with the end result and glad I got it done. In a month I really got used to the new way it felt and got to appreciate the improvements.

Good luck!

ask for lauaratabs after its over it makes trhe world feel way bettter

I'm not sure what kind of anesthesia they will give you, local or put you under. You won't feel any pain while they do the surgery.

Talk to your Doc and ask him or her about pain management, etc.

Hope everything works out for you.

They would never do that surgery without putting you to sleep. Good luck and expect to be sore for awhile.

It sounds like you are one of the exceptional sensible people who are having surgery because you need it.
Please get it done properly and not at one of these quasi-religious surgeries. The practice of genital mutilation is barbaric ( these bodies do it for unethical manipulation reasons, such as to reduce sex life) and it will mean the loss of a genuine part of your body.
If you will avoid something that has gone wrong in the past, it sounds like you are being sensible and doing the right thing. For the right reasons.
I have had teeth removed because they were rotten-think of it as the same thing.

dude you dont have to get Circed cause our fernulum tore the Dr can fix it without circumsizion

curtdude

You could just ask to have the frenulum removed. It's called frenectomy and would stop it from tearing, but wouldn't be as painful etc as a full circumcision. In fact maybe you have frenulum breve or something in which case there is stuff they can do other than full circumcision, have you looked into that?

Yes you can ask for general anaesthetic but depending where you live you might have to pay more.
