Are you circumsised? (serious answers only!)?!

Question: I'm having a baby soon and my boyfriend and I are choosing NOT to circumsise our boy. I was just curious as to how many men out there are not circumsised? I haven't "been with" lots of men so I wouldn't know myself! Please be mature and answer seriously..

My husband is but our sons (ages 4 yrs. and 21 mo.) are NOT. We did the research and chose not to circumcise them and he doesn't care that they are "different" than him. We have not had any problem with either and as long as you teach them how to clean properly, there should never be any problems. Good for you for making this choice for your son!

No.

my current bf is not circumcised
and i love him very much!

Good for you! I think you made the perfect decision.
I am not circumcised and loving every minute of it.

sorry iam circumcised, but i prefer it that way,my wife also,i was cut at43,some14 years ago,but each to ther own, both my boys done (lincs,uk)family history of foreskin probs.

No and Loving it...
with some care everyday cleaning it is the best

It's a difficult decision. At present it's maybe 50% for each. I'd consider it if the dad is circumcised and the child will want to know why he looks different than him, & if you have a religious belief that encourages it. There have also been medical studies which show that the women partners of circumcised men have a much less chance of getting HIV or AIDs and some types of cancer. There are cons against it (the male is less sensitive, it is physically harmful etc.). Good luck on your decision.

No and NO, don't do that to your baby.

I am but I know lots of guys that aren't. If it is important to you I hear it is much better to have it done as an infant than later in life (way less pain).

There will be many people strongly suggesting circumcision, however in Europe there are millions of men uncircumcised having great and healthy lives.

It feels for many circumcision is a question of religion, and you know how upset people get once religion is involved.

I posted a link below, your boy won't necessarily look as long as the picture, so don't worry.

You will need to make sure to clean him under his foreskin and train him to do so on his own once he starts bathing himself.

There are no health risks assuming you clean yourself regularly e.g. when taking a shower.

I'm not and glad of it. The foreskin was put there to protect the head of the penis and removing it could cause up to 25% lost of sensentavity in the penis. Young boys must be taught proper penile cleaniness and there should be no problems. The practice of circumcision (male & female) is barbaric and should be discontinued unless it is for medical reasons.

I think the reason behind circumcision is for cleanliness . But I've heard men have a more sensitivity when having sex. But the skin must be pulled back & kept clean. My husband uncle at 62 had to get circumcised because of an infection he developed .It's just a matter of choice. If you are really concern ask your doctor. Good Luck with the babe!

Yes I am, I had it done when I was in high school. My choice, my own decision. My parents paid the bills though. I like mine circumcised, looks and feels good too.

If you wish, you may live the decision to your son when he is old enough.

There are no valid medical reasons to circumcise a male infant at birth. The prepuce (foreskin) comes a part of a guy's original equipment package for a reason and has several functions. From a medical standpoint, there's really no reason to circumcise your soon-to-be-born little guy. Something else to keep in mind - when it's performed in the hospital, most docs don't use much, if any, anesthetic during the procedure, and the little guy's awake for all of it - from the strapping down through the cutting and bandaging.
And, Kent - circumcision to prevent penile cancer?!? Come on... Would you prefer to have your wife's breasts removed to prevent breast cancer or would you have had her undergo a complete hysterectomy to prevent ovarian or uterine or cervical cancer(s)? I don't really think so.

No i am not. As long as you teach him how to care for it which is no more thatn washing it when in the bath which you should do if your cut or not and teach him about STD's when the time is right he should be fine

make a good informed desison for your little dude

curtdude

I'm not circumsized and think you've made the right choice.
Its the natural appearance and is totally normal. Over 85% of the world's men are not circumsized.
Some people claim uncircumsized penises are prone to infections and health issues, but all is required is a quick wash under the foreskin each day in the shower, which is why I've never had any hygiene or cleanliness problems down there.
Also, I have spoken to a LOT of circumsized guys who wish they had been left intact, and some are even attempting to "restore" their foreskin.

I am not, (now)-DON"T DO IT!!!!! Here's a very fast ad that actually tells you why you shouldn't. The Male's pleasure of his sexual life should be his decision, let him decide -it's his penis. He'll thank you for it, my son thanked me-he's 21yo now!!!

http://www.senslip.com/
The video is pretty short and tells what you'll be taking away from your young male! If your husband is cut and feels cheated by watching this-foreskin restoration thru non-surgical means is totally possible and permanent "Skin Expansion methods". I did it in less than 2 years and have never regretted it-neither have my lovers!!! ( I have also fooled 3 docs-they thot I was naturally intact!)

and Kent is an idiot!

Worldwide most men aren't circumcised. About 20% are circumcised, and almost all of those are Jewish or Muslim. The remainder are in the USA.

Even though the USA is the last Western nation where circumcision is common, only 50% of baby boys are circumcised nowadays so it is nowhere near as common as it used to be, and although many people in the USA are used to a circumcised penis, and ignorant about the foreskin, this is gradually changing. Similar countries like Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand don't circumcise babies; the rate is low less than 10% in each country and banned in some areas, or doctors refuse to do it.

There is no reason for circumcision, you can leave the choice to your son anyway, and being uncut is not dirty or anything. Contrary to one poster, here are links showing circumcised men who got penile cancer (on their circumcision scar, actually):
http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/canc...
http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/canc...
http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-b...
http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/...
Besides, penile cancer is extremely rare and thought to be preventable by good hygiene, not to mention it only happens in old men, so cutting a baby for that reason is a dumb one. Same with STDs, nothing has been proven, but it should be the male's own choice if he would rather get cut (and still get STDs becuase even if there is a reduction it's a tiny one) or use a condom.

You are right to leave your son intact there is definitely no reason to inflict the cruel and unnecessary procedure on him.

I'm not circumcised, and satisfied with it. =)

I think you're doing the right choice. By leaving a boy uncircumcised, if he's not satisfied with it he can always get cut and end up satisfied in the end. One survey found that about half of circumcised guys would have preferred to had made the decision themselves:
http://www.jackinworld.com/qow/q15.html

Circumcision has become less common. Circumcision rates were as high as 90% back in the 1960s and 1970s (that's partly why today's adults are so... brainwashed, I supposed you could say, about thinking that circumcision is better) but they have fallen to as low as 14% in some states. Here are the statistics:
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/U...

The USA is the last developed nation doing it to a large number of newborns without religious or medical needs. (Europeans, Latin Americans, Japanese, and most Australians, Canadians, and Asians don't circumcise):
http://www.circumstitions.com/Maps.html

Christianity doesn't ask for circumcision, either. In fact, sections of the Bible are harsh against circumcision, and the Catholic Church even condemned the surgery:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcisio...

In a medical study, it was found that females are more likely to hit orgasm with an uncircumcised man:
http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/...

The lubricated foreskin (on the inside... like your eyelids) slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (which is why you don't hear of uncircumcised guys needing lube to masturbate).
http://www.cirp.org/pages/anat/

Studies have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2855...

And despite being more sensitive, uncircumcised guys still last in the same six minute range (average) that circumcised guys do:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs...

Circumcision makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs...

Which makes sense, that's how circumcision was promoted in the USA:
http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/...

Increases erectile dysfunction rates:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez...

If too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:
http://drgreene.org/body.cfm?id=21&actio...
http://www.altermd.com/Penis%20and%20Scr...

And circumcised boys have a 10% chance of acquiring meatal stenosis, which is when the opening of the urethra (pee hole) closes up and needs surgery to reopen.
http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic2356.h...

There's pain involved, often why doctors don't want you in the room when it's done:

http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/1f21e.htm
(you can search online for a circumcision video, too)

Circumcision does not completely stop penile cancer. The American Cancer Society has already confirmed the myth that circumcision = no cancer.
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/conten...

If circumcision did stop penile cancer, then penile cancer would not be more common in the USA (most circumcised adults) than in some European nations, where circumcision is not practiced other than for medical/religious reasons.
http://www.circumstitions.com/Cancer.htm...

And a new study found that circumcision does not reduce your chances to get HIV/AIDS. Unlike other studies, this one was done in a developed nation; the USA.

Of course, there are other risks associated, but those are typically the ones due to surgery. You can research it more here:

Yes and i would recommend it, I don't know if it changes a person's sexual experience but I do know that it absolutely prevents penile cancer. In the words of a cancer specialist I spoke with "Ihave never seen a case of penile cancer on a man who was circumcised.
End of story for me! Get it done.

Get it done, it's much safer for him.

Yes, i am. and i am extremely happy that i am.
I think it looks better, and uncircumcised kids at my school are made fun of for it, so i do recommend that you reconsider.

Yeah I'm Circumcised

It Would Be Better For Him To Get It Done

Because It's Very Clean And He Will

Have LESS Chance Of Getting STD's

I Like Being Circumcised.
