First of all, consider very carefully what you intend to do, and what has motivated you to try it. Next, whatever you have been told about shaving, or waxing, or pubic hair removal by other methods, as being "gay", you are being B.S.'ed even beyond my comprehension. Then, you need to decide if this will help improve your self esteem. Talk to a doctor or counselor, anyone with whom you can have an open and honest dialogue about these issues.
Start out with barber scissors to trim down the long hair. Use a shaving gel with conditioners and lubricants. Make sure the razor has at least three blades. The more blades the better the shave. Most important, plenty of hot water. The rest is practice.......and patience. Good luck.

use tiny scissors for your nether regions and an electric razor for the top part.

Some people in here are so uninformed. Shaving down there is no more a gay thing than penile piercing. It is just your personal preferences and that is all. If you want to shave down there or have penis piercings, that's your business and no one elses. I have been shaving down there (front & back) for years because I love the smooth feeling and my gf just can't keep her hands off me. Besides that, it is so much easier to keep clean and fresh. Like I said, I have been doing this for years and I'll match my sexuality with any guy in here. Just do what you want to do and enjoy it.
