I don't think it's weird.
You're lucky your dad is in good health. Mine is a bit older than yours, needs to lose a fair amount of weight and has arthritis in his knees.
Be proud of your dad for who he is
Just about any car comes with ABS (anti-lock braking system) these days. And it doesn't really matter how old or young you are so don't be so prejudiced against the old, o.k?
