Question: it is possible, but it isnt common. most lumps that occure in men is a condition called gynomastia (sp?). after my throidectomy, it threw my body into a hormone mess, and i developed a lump and tenderness behind my right nipple. naturally with my cancer history, i was in the doc so fast you wouldnt believe, and is where i learned about it. men, especially overweight men, or men that have hormone imbalance can actually begin developing breasts, and feel a lump of breast tissue. though men can develop breast tissue, most of the time it is this condition. they didnt take any chances i had to go for a catscan and tests to make sure

Yes they can. Breast cancer attacks lymph nodes, not mammary glands, and all humans have lymph nodes, though most are located in the breasts. Cancer is not contagious, it is caused by a cell growth abnormality, so it's pretty random as to how it happens.
