I only know about my muslim friends (one from Russia and one from Iraq). They do not use toilet paper; they use water bottles that are kept in the bathroom. From what they tell me, muslims are taught to cleanse themselves with water because toilet paper is considered unsanitary. I'm not saying this is hard fact or all muslims are like this.....i can only speak for the ones i know personally (and discussed it with......).

Considering that in many 3rd world countries the average annual income is less than $100 and they have no running water or plumbing, of course they don't use toilet paper. They can barely afford food. TP is a western invention and apparently you have never been on a hike or camping. You use what nature provides..
