in most cases the penis doesn't be erect to urinate. in most cases, it's harder for the stream of urine to pass because of an erection. think of your genitial like this:
a fence guarding to paths - the fence can only block one path, NOT both, when it's ready for semenial fluid ejaculation the fence is covering the urinal path and vice versa. (think of it like a Switch on a Train Track) when the penis is erect it "thinks" it's time for semenial fluid to pass and blocks the urinary tract.
when it's time to urinate the fence blocks the vas de.... veins. this also prevents urine from entering the semenial tract and semen entering the bladder. rare cases semenial fluid does get in the bladder and one might see a cloudy urine stream.
