How can I increase my fore arm strength?!


Question: I need to be able to do as many pus-ups in a 1 minuete time period. Also, if I do sit ups on the incline bench will that enable me to build resistance? will it make it easier to do more sit ups during the pt exams and what weight should I start out with? Thanks in advance

Bench press will help your push up strength. Leg lifts will increase your sit ups. These offer more resistance to those groups and will help more than just doing sit ups or push ups.

lifting dumbells. single weights....

well, your fore arms dont have much to do with a push up. your chest and shoulders are the muscles you use for a push up. you could use a low dumbell weight in which you can achieve 12-15 reps on your first set, then move up to a higher weight and go for 10-12 reps. you can progress this process with higher weight and lower reps, but then you will be focusing more on strength rather than endurance, which is what youre shooting for. but yea, flat bench press with dumbells, incline b.p. with dumbells, and military presses(shoulders), and 'arnold presses'(shoulders) should all help towards your goal of as many possible push-ups in a minute. hope this helps..

first of all push ups recquire pure triceps power..........but since u asked about ur forearms -grab a barbell and sit down on a bench-place ur forearms above ur thighs while holding the barbell with your hands.star curling ur wrist up and down-just small movements

simply lifting weights...
like those mini dumbbells.

Do it everyday, make it a habit, surely you'll strengthen your muscles in your forearms.

well tony soprano your a pretty small chubby guy so id say you need to do a lot of weight lifting dumbell curls and benchpress should help and just do a lot of pushups and eventually you`ll be able to do more if needed put weights on your back as you do them
