Is this a good diet for my friend or is it a hoax?!

Question: So I'm on this saltine cracker/ gatorade diet and it really works. Of course it took a lot to adjust to just eating crackers all day but I'm used to it now....anyway moderate exercise is also needed if you want to see good results. I know it's not the best diet but hey it works for me.

my frind sent this to me on myspace im wondering if i should try it
how fast will i loose my pounds ?

That is a terrible diet. It does lack nutrients and protein.

that is a hoax. it does not sound like a very healthy diet at all...you are missing a lot of essential nutrients that you can't get from crackers and gatorade alone.

I don't think that it's a good idea. You'll get no vitamins or nutrients, protein, fats (yes, you do need some!). It's basically nothing but sugars and water.

The only safe diet is one that is nutritionally balanced. You will lose weight anytime your energy input is less than your energy output, so a combination of exercise and healthy eating is the best.

A cracker/gatorade diet is dangerous because of the high salt intake. Unless you drink alot of water to compensate you run the risk of overloading your body with sodium, which can actually be fatal, among a variety of other nasty effects!

If you are REALLY worried, I would suggest you should see a dietician. Otherwise, use the internet to research healthy eating and plan your own diet to cover all the major foodgroups and vitamins and use fewer calories to moderate your weight loss.

depending on how much Gatorade you are drinking will determine how much weight you will lose. But this Is not a good diet because you are not getting any of your needed daily allowances and Gatorade if full of sodium. sure you will lose weight for a while but your body will eventually say i am being starved and will start hanging on to all the fat it can so it can survive as long as it can without the proper nutrients

Just try having one really good meal a day, Big breakfast, big Dinner or a big Supper, The crackers are only a stop-gap sooner or later you are going to have to go back to eating real food for the sake of your health

It's not balanced at all. You are just loading your body with sugar and carbs. You need vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy etc.

Then again, Oprah did go on an almond and water diet.
People do drastic things for their appearance.

its because there is salt in saltines therefore you lose water weight, but your body needs water.
I suggest you eat only healthy snacks throughout the day like low fat yogurt, apples, salads with low calorie italian dressing (with chicken) and drink lots of water and walk or run like a mile a day..
if you do that for a week you'll lose five pounds. if you do it for a month possibly twenty.
dosen't sound hard does it, but its up to you to follow through. thats why people are so desperate to try crazy knowingly unhealthy diets.. because theyre lazy... if they put forth just some effort they'd see how easy it is to lose weight.
