Question: Your doctor can only suggest if a pace maker is needed , its up to you to make the decision to have it , my eldest sister was told she needed one after she had her first child (21 yrs ago) as her heart beat drops so low when she is sleeping that one day she might not wake up , but with the pace maker fitted this will stop this from ever happening - saying all that though to her she only had it fitted 18 months ago and is still getting use to it , think if she could she would have it removed but for the sake of her kids its still there she is only 39. talk it throw with your doctor look it up on Internet or ask more questions pace makers are given for a reason good luck on what you decide.

If doctors suggest it then you must need it.

In Stokes Adems' attack it is always better to go for a pace maker on your cardiologist advice as a life saving measure.
However Pace makers are implanted in all cases of serious cardiac arrhythmias and arrhythmias not responding to medical treatment etc.,.
There are temporary pace makers, permanent pace makers, dual chamber pace makers etc., used by cardiologists to save life.

best get it if advised, once fitted dump the microwave as this plays havoc with pacemakers
