Limit Your Salt Consumption
This is the most crucial way of lowering blood pressure. The recommended daily salt consumption for an adult is 5g. But many people eat double that quantity. Adhere to the recommended daily intake and your blood pressure will decrease. Avoid adding salt at the table and while cooking. Instead, choose herbs to make your foods tasty. Read the salt content of ready meals, which can be very high. Calculate your daily salt intake by noting down the salt content on packets and tins.

Avoid Fatty Foods
Saturated fat can block your arteries, so ensure all your food is low in saturates. Avoid Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat and Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat, since they too can clog your arteries. So stay away from products whose ingredients include hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats.
Take Fish Oil Everyday
Lose Weight
Go Walking

Did your doc check a T3 and a free T4 as well as the TSH? Every now and then, a person can have hyperthyroidism with a normal (in range) TSH. You could also have mildly overactive adrenal activity. But, in an otherwise healthy male, hypertension and tachycardia definitely deserve more than a passing glance. Get rechecked and, if you need to, get a second opinion. Good luck.

blood test is different from blood pressure test.. you may wanna get checked for hypertension. talk to your doctor about this..
