Is it embarrassing for a man who is uncircumcised?!

Question: I'm wondering to determine whether or not to circumcise or not to circumcise is the best choice for a newborn

Answers: I'm wondering to determine whether or not to circumcise or not to circumcise is the best choice for a newborn

Well, 80% of the world's male population would be embarrassed then! In the US, male circumcisions for newborns are down below 50% (2006 figures) compared to a high of 95% in 1968.

Parents are realizing the operation is unnecessary. The American Association of Pediatrics now states that this is unnecessary surgery, and should not be performed routinely.

Most boys now have seen others in the gym showers both intact and circumcised, and they don't really see it as embarrassing, just different.

I would advise you to leave it alone, and let your son make his own decision when he is old enough. As an adult, he can choose to have his foreskin removed; but there is no reason for a parent to make this decision - which is irreversable - for the pre-adolescent child.

The foreskin was put there for a purpose - to protect the head of the penis. Removing it also removes 25% of the nerve endings and leaves the gland unprotected. Teaching infant boys to wash properly will reduce the need for circumcision and leave him unbutchered. I still have my foreskin and I am proud of it.

it's not embarrassing, it's natural.

Hi Jess! I'd recommend doing some research and decide which is best health wise for your baby boy. Uncirmcised men have to take extra care of the penis because it can build smegma up.

Good luck of your decision! :)

EDIT
You also got to take in consideration that most guys are, and see it as the norm. The guys that are satisfied with the uncircumcision probably had to get by a stage where they thought they were different and/or didn't like it. So if your thinking about social aspect, I'm not leaning towards or against, I'm saying circumcision is the norm for society.

keep it on. it's healthier, better for their dick. And later in life when they discover sex, there's more nerves.
they can pull it back, and because it's almost a bit elastically, it can stay back until you pull it over. So, if it's a matter of image, it doesn't hurt to have it there. I have my own, and am very happy I have it. If I'm feeling selfconscious though, that maybe I'd like it pulled back to be "exposed", like circumsized, I just pull it. So, for many reasons, keep it.

circumcision is a barbaric practice that no longer serves any purpose like the person above stated 25% of nerves are there so please dont deprive your son.

Well, speaking from a womans point of view who has been with both, I much prefer the UNCIRCUMCISED version.

it is %100 up to you. there are positives and negatives to both sides. but i would suggest leaving him uncircumcised. as long as you teach him early on how to pull the foreskin back and clean good, you can avoid serious pain for your little one. and although i do not know if it is true, i heard even though he is so young, getting him circumcised causes a detachment between him and you. my fiance is uncircumcised, and is not at all embarrassed by it

Being uncircumcised doesn't embarrass me at all. Why would it?

dont they wont like you

Leave his foreskin alone. There is nothing embarrassing about it. It's natural

I am uncircumcised. When I was young it was embarrassing, but only because everyone else seemed different. I stood out, and young kids don't like to stand out in that way.

But now I feel 180 degrees different. I am so very glad I was not circumcised. And I am definitely not embarrassed, no matter what company I may be in.

Uncircumcised is better for sexual enjoyment. Because the glans are covered almost all the time, they are much more sensitive than those which rub against clothing and other materials for an entire lifetime.

The only real issue is hygene. You simply must properly instruct any child to be careful and wash regularly. I have never had a problem.

Why would it be embarrassing-I think it is more embarrassing to have a mutilated penis

uhhh i don't know where u are from but here in canada all girls my age (23) prefer circumsized guys....they'd ask u that question right away before having sex.....so i figure I'm not going to have any children any time soon......but most of the guys I see in the gym are uncut....hmmm....I dunno....let ur son decide this....by the time he's reached sexual maturity.....women may have changed their ignorant views.....

I am uncut 54 years old and have no problems with my foreskin.........

I am uncut. I have never cared if they did not like it oh well.

Well, I'm 20 yrs old and uncircumcised. I can't stand having a foreskin! All the guys in the locker room would be like "awe dude, your not circumcised, gross!" plus you get called names like elephant trunk and ant eater. It really sucks to be different! I just think a circumcised penis looks 100% better and you don't have to deal with the extra upkeep of always pulling it back and washing it. Talk about bacteria, if you forget to clean good, you can get infections such as balanitis, cancer of the penis (rare), and even UTI's. Recent studies have also shown that the Human Papiloma Virus loves to breed under the foreskin and is much less common in circumcised guys. I Have not to this day ever seen another guy my age that wasn't circumcised. Why a guy would want a foreskin is beyond me. As for sex, with or without,it all depends on the girl and your technique. Please have him circumcised, he will thank you later in life, TRUST ME!!!

maybe you should go with what the father has so the kid thinks hes normal

Embarassing for what?

I've been uncut all my life and I haven't been embarassed by this. Why on earth would I be? That's how all men are made.

I recommend to get him circumsized
