Not at all!! Sometimes guys might use it as an excuse to make whomever relieve the pressure for them :P, but there is no truth to that statement. There are no adverse side effects (maybe a little discomfort to having blue balls)

I'm not aware of a short term link between 'blue balls' and prostrate cancer.
Frequent ejaculation can help avoid prostrate cancer.
Generally, an erection that isn't 'dealt' with goes away. Its more an erection that is prolonged for a long time and not dealt with that's likely to cause blue balls - which are quite painful, but not dangerous to my knowledge.
