Guys- why would a guy think it is ok to hit on a girl in front of her mom????!
Question: i am 16.a couple months ago i was eating with my mom at a restaurant and our server was trying to flirt with me. my mom even noticed him doing that. she said i think he likes you and he came back to our table about 10 times and kept asking hows everything over here? when it isn't even the type of restaurant where the server is supposed to check back with you. this restaurant was at an all inclusive spa resort we went to, so noone carries cash and there are no prices for food so no tips. he was my age.
and then yesterday this guy who was about 25 years old kept trying to joke with me and asked my mom are you sure i shouldn't have alcohol in my pina colada. then he kept trying to ask me when my spring break was and try to poke fun at how much i ate for like 2 whole minutes it got me so embarassed and and he kept talking and trying to make me laugh
why do these people do this in front of my mom don't they know this is so embarrasingly weird? do you think this is ok or inappropriate?

The guys figure that this is the only time that they will ever see you again, so it's as good a time as any to try to get your contact information. I don't think that basic flirting in front of parents is inappropriate unless the guy is doing is lewd things.
You should ask your mom what she thinks. She's probably proud that she raised such an attractive daughter. You shouldn't be embarrassed. Would you rather that no guys pay attention to you...think about it.

OMG!! idk, but the same thing happens all the time to my cousin Beth who's around your age (she's 15) but i think it's just because they'll think some girls are soooooo atrractive, God himself could come down and stare at the dude and he wouldn't even notice! :)

Well... you must be really pretty so they forget their inhibitions and go for the gusto; mom or no mom... as long as they are being nice, they know that a lot of times a moms approval will give the daughter the go ahead if she likes his attitude...

Well i am a guy and i dont think it is great hitting on a girl in front of her mom. Some guys might think that that isnt your mom or they are just too cool to worry about that.(i am not like that)
Pure unadulterated stupidity. Find out who his parents are, and slap them about the head and neck, several times.
