Is there anything else that I need to know about Whey Protein?!

Question: I know alot of people will say something like "You don't need Protein, You get it in your Diet and blah blah blah" Stuff like that. But I made my decision, thank you for your opnion though. Well I heard different things, I KNOW whey protein shakes is not a meal replacement shake. I KNOW that it can't be turned into fat because it's an amino acid. I KNOW that I can have a post workout shake. I KNOW drinking to much will blow my kidneys and liver out and I have to drink alot of water. So here are my questions.

Do I have to eat any specific foods? Such as Carbs?

Do I take a shake in the morning, Pre, Post workout, and before I go to sleep? I'm 14. ("You shouldn't be worried about what you look like!" Blah blah blah...)

Any brands? I got alot of recommendations about 100% Optimum Whey

Will mixing it with milk reduce it's absorbency? (As in it lowers the amount of protein muscle absorb)

Any other supplments I need to take? Multivitamin For sure.

Thanks!

Well I started to drink whey protein and could barely sip it without gagging, it will taste horrible and if I were you id go with something else, there are many different protein mix options that taste much better, im also 14, really if you are working out you should eat or drink in your case protein before the muscle routines and then eat carbs afterward. But seriously I wouldnt go with whey.

nah i take whey protien and cretine, its pefectly fine, the protein shake taste like **** but you can ease the taste by mixing it with milk, mines 2% nestle skim milk and take it after your work out. My routine is workout everyday, wake up eat breakfast, after 1-2 hours of digestion id take my cretein, then work out and afterwards take my protein shake (strawberry) and maybe 1-2hours later eat some carbs, like noodles, or paste, spagghetti, sandwich, w/e if you dont like whey protein, go with xyence, talking to the guys at nutrition house or GNC they can help you too, and before you buy it make sure it comes with a measuring spoon/cup. If you stop taking the protein shake like after 1-3 weeks then you'll probally lose some weight, and at first when you take it, your body wont be used to it, so it will take some time to get in the habit and see some effects. hope this helps.
