Concentration. Isolation
You have to focus on the muscle group that you are working on and ONLY that muscle group. If you have to use other muscles to perform a movement then you are going too heavy. Back down on the weight and increase the reps but focus on that particular muscle and on relaxing all other muscles. Can you have someone spot you, they can use I finger and touch your back to see if you are using or relaxing other muscles.
If you dont get this under control you will seriously and permanantly hurt something.

Also try different variations of bicep curls, like Preacher curl or concentration curl or cable curl.

Eat bananas. I used to do dance training and our teacher said bananas were great for cramps. I never tried it but she swore by it. Also, make sure you are warming up properley stretch before and after weight training and maybe do a few min of cardio before.

Dale is right. Training heavy is a GOOD thing, but not at the expense of your back--ouch! Have you tried wearing a lifting belt? I love the biceps curl because you can get that little twist at the top to really peak the muscle--but if you're training too heavy you will throw your back out. Try doing them as a warm up to the serious part of your workout, then do more isolation exercises.
