It's kind of difficult to answer this question. Not in respect of how I feel about my SO but how I felt at the time. It's hard to see somebody that you care about more than anybody in such pain. But worse than that, I often felt like there was nothing I could do, which was the worst part.
The most I could do was be next to her for every waking hour, she has always said that knowing I was there kept her going through the pain. I definetly think our relationship is stronger since then as it is an extremely difficult time, and I believe that times like that define relationships.
All I know is I love her more and more each day I spend with her, be it good or bad.

If i've seen her go through it and I know how she's feeling inside then ofcourse I won't say anything.....real comitment means going through it all...what ever happens....

Absolutely it would grow stronger.

I've helped my wife through medical stuff, including giving some pretty intimate kinds of care when she was too drugged or weak to take care of herself. When she gets older, I imagine I'll do more of it - and she'll do the same for me, if I need it. I'm not just here for the fun parts, I'm here for 100% of her - even the parts that aren't so much fun.
