Is it ok to workout your abs everyday?!


Question: All my physically active life I've been told to let your muscles rest for at least 48 hours after intense physical activity. However, several people have told me lately that it's ok to workout your core everyday. They said it's because your abs are "different" from your other muscles but neither of them really backed it up with any kind of empirical evidence. One of the guys is my friend who'se done a lot of physical therapy due to a broken back.

Could somebody help untangle this mess in my mind? Please try to back up your answer with solid evidence and logic. I'm looking for credibility. Links would be awesome!

No, you should give them a rest cause that's when muscles heal and get bigger. Here's an article.

No it is not, it is important to have at least one rest day.
