so what do you wear now? some type of pj's? There wouldn't be much difference; both are usually thin material. And there's nothing perverted or strange about sleeping in your boxers. A lot, and I mean, A LOT of guys do it. Many even walk around the house in front of siblings and parents in them.
You shouldn't feel embarrassed if your parents see you in your underwear. After all, they use to change your diapers so they know what your bare butt looks like. Would you feel embarrassed if they saw you in a bathing suit? It's the same thing so quit feel so embarrassed over nothing.
It's only underwear they aren't going to react badly to it... everyone wears underpants.

hey don't sweat it... I am a girl and I did not like my mom to see me in just my panties after i turned 14 it feels weird...just talk it over and tell them you feel like you are growing up and would like more privacy...tell them you don't feel comfortable showing your nakedness anymore...of course that never woulda worked with my mom she did not even let me close my door at night she was paranoid after my little brothers died,, but hey its worth a try! :)
Shorts are shorts! In NY it's legal to walk around in your under wear because they are just shorts. Think about it!
