Flat bench is for the "mid" section of your chest...Inclines are for the "top" part...and decline bench is for the "bottom" part of your chest...Be careful not to do too high an incline as you'll be doing more of a shoulder workout then a chest workout!

Flat bench press is better because all high school coaches will point out that squats, bench presses, and hang cleans or Romanian dead lefts are the best lifts you can do.

Bench focuses on the pectoralis major, I think with incline it focuses on the obliques ...not quite sure tho

Every trainer I've ever met has both in his routine.

If you're only going to do one, do flat. It hits the 'chest' and is the core exercise for it.

Inclined bench hits more the upper part of the pecs.

If you're mainly worried about strength, focus on:
Squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, row, pullup and some core work (maybe crunches, twists and overhead squats).

If you're worried mainly about looking pretty, I imagine you'll have a 'guns day' and spend 3 hour on the left gun, I dunno, ask someone else.
