my grandfather isnt to well at the moment, and he is startin to repeat his stories over an over again, and he forgets things and people names!

The body is a fine balancing act of various compounds and one of the most important is elecrolytes like sodium, magnesium and potassium. They tend to get out of balance when we do things like dehydrate or drink too many fluids, eat and sleep poorly, take medications that can deplete normal levels, exercise to excess, etc... The good news is that it is a relatively simple fix to get them back in balance. My elderly Mom is notorious for drinking too many fluids and depleting her electrolytes and yes it can have cognitive and physical consequences. I hope this is a simple fix for your Grandpa and not caused by some more serious systemic problem. Good luck.
