Answers: and not females?
thanx!
Its genetic, females are carriers but they dont get the disease, just like colour blindness
Hemophilia is an X sex linked disease. This means that if a female inherits a hemophilia gene, she has one good female gene to mask the hemophilia. She is considered a carried and could pass it to a son. In males, they get an X and a Y chromosome. If the X is coded for hemophilia, he does not have a healthy X to 'cover' it and therefore developes the disease. Could a female inhert 2 bad X genes a develop the disease, yes it is possible but most males to not live long enough to breed and therefore pass on their 'bad' gene.
