First of all PERIOD BLOOD IS NOT GROSS. That comment was obviously from a scared little boy who is threatened of womanhood.
I agree with the first commenter.. It does get very messy, but I have heard from some women that they are more sensitive during her period. So if you want to do it, proceed with caution!
umm well I don't know why those guys don't mind. I no I wouldn't have sex when I'm on my period unless it was almost over. It gets too messy. In my past guys have never told me its better. Maybe them guys have some fetish with it lol. I would imagine if a guy dose like it. That means they like it because its more wetter I guess lol

It can be better for me. I think it's because when you're menstruating, you're more swollen. It happens during pregnancy, too.
Its a lot more sensitive in that area during that time. I would only recommend doing it on lighter days. It will be messy if not. I really don't like it then but some do.
