Sex is totally different. There is another person involved! It is more exciting, sexy, and intimate. However, sometimes if all you want is a quick orgasm, masturbation is better lol :)
Totally different experiences, IMHO. Sex is better, but sometimes a quick tug is what you need. It all depends.

sex is the best because you are touching, tasting, smelling someone close to your body. and that's about the nicest thing in the world. you just don't get that with your own hand.
Those are different experiences. In sexuality the excitement comes from the closeness of the other person that you are having sex with. In masturbation its a matter of pure pleasure. If I had to pick one as feeling better than the other -- I would actually pick masturbation as feeling better than sex, not the other way around. When I have sex my goal is to pleasure partner. When I masturbate my goal is to feel pleasure. There is no stress in masturbation and you can do whatever makes you feel best.
So seriously, I don't think sex is better than masturbation. They are different, but in their overlapping areas (pleasure) I think masturbation is better.
Now oral sex, by someone who is actually good at it -- that beats masturbation. If you are straight though, that may be hard to find. My bisexual friends tell me that most girls who are willing to do it don't do it well. I trust them (I'm gay personally).

For a lot of guys, there really is no difference. What they think of as intercourse is just masturbating with the girl's body.
Sex is meant to be shared, so it just feels nicer to have a partner, to touch someone else, to arouse them, and to have them do the same for you. Guys who swear they're not gay still get turned on just masturbating with a roommate, doing each other or just watching (touching is better, though). It's just a special feeling giving up control of your sex drive to someone. It's a combination of physical sensation and trust.

Sex with another person is not better than masturbation. Nobody can satisfy you like you can satisfy yourself.
