Yes the first couple times will be uncomfortable as you get used to it. #1 use lube and a condom, don't be shy with the lube either it will make it go a lot smoother. #2 have your fellow use either a small anal style toy or a finger or two to get you used to something going in there and relaxing the area. #3 take your time don't try to rush it the first time usually is not very good anyways so don't be frustrated if it's not what you expect.
