What does it mean if a guy holds the door open for you?!

Question: a guy you've never spoken to before?
I think he was staring at me in class but I'm not sure because I didn't have my glasses on.

I think he was staring at me in class but I'm not sure because I didn't have my glasses on.

His motivation could be a couple of different things. At the very least, he is showing you his interest and attention. He may just be acting gentlemanly. He may also have a romantic interest in you. Continue to watch how he acts towards you. This will offer some insight as to his motivations.

well, maybe he was just being polite... if you like him, ask him out!

It means he received an education and has proper manners dear. Nothing more.

It means he was raised the right way, and has respect for women.

that he's polite

Just being nice....maybe he likes you.

It probably doesn't mean anything except that maybe he felt like being a "gentleman" and hold open the door for you.

Odds are he would've held the door open for anyone else who was going through at the same time as him, too.

just being polite...its nothing probably...common courtesy

It means he is being polit and a gentleman. Which is rare these days. Thank him kindly and maybe you can strike up a conversation and become friends

In my lifetime I've encountered only one woman who said: I can get the door myself! I guess I'm old school. We were taught that it takes only a second in time to help someone or be polite. I've gotten so I don't even look at the person any more I just automatically hold the door.

In my view it's terribly impolite to let a heavy glass mall door swing back directly in someone's face.

i hold the door open for girls all the time

if you are pessimistic he is a terrorist,if you are optimistic he is a polite boy.

It means he is a gentleman. Who knows he might be interested in you? See how things go

i guess its proff that chivalry isnt dead

He was just being polite! It used to be common practice for men to hold open doors, pull their chair out, etc. for women. It great that there are still men that are courteous enough to do this :)

If you walked through the door while he was holding it open, then he owns you!
