Swollen foreskin?!
Question: hi, I'm a virgin and this morning I noticed something deeply troubling on my penis, I pulled the foreskin back and it was reddish and swollen, also my penis glans was red (not painful though). right now its about the same, did not get better, still red and swollen.
I've done nothing with it, and I have never had sex so there is no reason for something like this to be happening. Recenly I had an MRI, about 1 week ago, and I was injected with a contrast agent, thats the only thing I can think of.
any ideas? please don't tell me the worst case scenerio right away, I'm a hypochondriac and all I need to know is, could it be caused by bad hygine and can it be fixed?

Sounds like a mild infection, possibly a yeast infection. The best thing you can do is keep it very clean, washing well, and using a mild soap, but only mild to prevent further skin irritation or drying, as soap does that. The contrast agent wouldn't cause this, as more skin that that would be swollen, the foreskin is the same skin as the rest of your body after all. Best I can suggest is to wash well, and wash your hands before touching it. Best of luck, and I do hope your MRI results turn out well, that always can be a daunting thing.

Hmmm, did you fall asleep with the foreskin retracted? Sometimes that can cause this. It could be some type of skin irritant... like a new soap, or something on your hands transfered to the penis. Bad hygiene could be it, but so could overly washing... especially if you use soap. If there is no discharge/bad smell or pain I doubt it is infection... but still probably worth going to the doc... especially if it doesn't go away in a couple days.
Zorzenco. you may have a slight infection of the base skin of the glans penis. dont worry as there is no danger yet, but you must attend to it. if the MRI scan was in the pelvic area there would be some slight irritation but I feel we should discount that.
I would rather you cleansed the area with a very mild disinfectant and refrain from masturbation for a few days. you probably don't feel like it anyhow. if the infection or irritation hasn't cleared up in the a few days after the treatment, go to your doctor. dont be afraid of doctors they wont dobb on you. this happen with me so i put baby lotion on it and it gets better and the swollen goes down,this works for me
