Question asked during physical examination?!

Question: My new Dr asked me a strange question during my annual physical. He asked me "if i were to drive would i wear a seat belt", does anyone know why he would ask me such a strange question, is this a routine question asked during a physical exam?. or is he trying to see if i'm some sort of risk taker or something. I just find it bazar that he asked me this.

No that common. I work at a Family practice office and the health care provider who is giving a youth physical (13-19 years) alway go over and discuss thing like drug use, condons , and wearing a selt belt.

He's asking you if you would use a condom if you were to have intercourse.

Maybe he wants to know if you are a responsable person,no more.
Or use it as icebreaker,so you aren't nervous for the more personal detales.
I see no problem that he asked you this.
Rob.

no

I don't think it had anything to do with condoms. Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death in younger people. Wearing a seat belt does more to protect your life than any other act at your age.
