White spots on fingernails means you are lacking calcium.
Calcium is in dairy food but so are the calories too! So you wont really be getting enough. You also need Vitamin D to absorb calcium and Mn to utilise this calcium. I had the same problem.

it's calcium deficiency actually.

start taking one-a-day men's supplements, eat more cheese, drink more milk and you'll be good.

from my experience, the white spots on my nails were from psyriosis on the skin at the base of my fingernails.....see a doctor

lack of calcium. don't sweat it.

You don't state how old you are or your occupation or activities that you engage in.
It is PROBABLY, unlikely in America, that if you are an average male, you're not getting enough calcium. In fact you maybe getting TOO MUCH calcium.
My first instinct would be that you hit or tapped your nail bed with or against something, especially if you work on cars, do any carpentry, landscape.
I hope this has been helpful.

It mean you don't have enough calcium in your system
drink lots of milk
and eat lots of dairy food

Its either too much calcium or too little. If its too much thats not a bad thing but if its too little, then step it up and get more. Only you know which it is so if you get alot of calcium dont worry about it but if you dont go get some calcium pills or something.

there is a myth that those white spots mean that someone has a crush on you... one girl for each spot... hehe...
