Physical check up for guys?!

Question: The part where the doc grabs your balls and tells you to turn your head and cough

1 - What is that test for anyway?

2 - What happens if I don't turn my head or cough?

3 - Does it matter if I turn my head to the left or to the right?

Answers: The part where the doc grabs your balls and tells you to turn your head and cough

checking for a hernia--a tear in the muscle wall by your ball sack. Turning and coughing forces the muscles down there, so if there's a problem, it should show up. And direction matters not.

I have never gone for such check up,I think only female docs can do that

He's checking for a hernia.

No, it doesn't matter if you cough to the left or right, unless you cough ON the physician.

hernia
no one likes ppl to cough in their face so left or right doesn't matter

I had my nuts checked twice now, first by a man then by a woman, the woman was gentle and friendly while the male was traumatising and gay. Avoid the male at all costs!

I have had it done a hundred time by both male and female doctors. It is to check for hernias, and for abnormalities of the testicles, along with hernias in the inguinal canal where both testicles drop down from. Yes it must be done on both sides, and turning the head makes it more easily detected. Good Luck! unlike some that have answered that you don't want a male doctor because he was rough, i have always found the doctors to be more gentle , and kind of their patients

The doctor is checking for different things based on your age. If you're young/in puberty, the doctor is often testing to make sure both testicles have descended properly. Additionally, he is checking for hernias.

If you don't turn your head and cough, you make it more difficult for the doctor to get a feel for what's going on.

No, it doesn't matter which direction you turn your head.

Docs don't grab your balls, if the do, ask them to turn loose. They may examine your balls, but only when you are asking for that. What they do during a physical is place their fingers in your groin area, where your scrotum hangs from the abdomen. The balls dropped from the abdomen at or near birth, and the veins and plumbing from your balls go up there and to your prostate gland. This area is a really weak area of your abdomen since it is an opening, and the doc is testing to see that you don't have a hernia-- a protrusion of the intestine into the inguinal canal or even down into your sac. You can turn your head any way you want, no real reason to turn other than to distract you from the fact a guy has his hand against your groin.
