Can a man with E.D. ejaculate?!

Question: My mother is concerned that my dad has been lying to her for years about his erectile dysfunction. He has congestive heart failure and diabetes - and for the past 10+ years has claimed to not be able to perform.

My mother is fuming mad because he recently told his doctor that he has been having "wet dreams". I know this sounds disgusting... especially since we're talking about my father, but I tried to convince my mother that a man with e.d. can indeed have an ejaculation during unconscious states of being... but I really didn't know if that was true. She now believes my dad has been having an affair for years and just used this E.D. as an excuse to not have to have sex with her.

Basically, I just wanted to know if a man who is impetent can actually have a release of seminal fluids?

Yes, it is very possible. Some of the best medications that are used in treating CHF (congestive heart failure) are also used to treat things such as hypertension, cardiac disorders, and many other things. They are called Beta-blockers (two fo the biggest ones are metaprolol and atenalol) and one of the biggest complaints is that they cause impotence. I have several friends that are taking them and thats all i hear about. However, it is still very possible to have a wet dream. Regardless of whether you can get it up or not, you can still have a wet dream. All it is is a release of semen while you are sleeping. You dont have to be having an affair or anything else to have one. Some men have them frequently. Apparently, there are more issues to this than just the two fo them not having sex, either that or the guilty dog is barking first, but thats none of my business. What your dad is going through is completely normal.

Here is a website if you want to know more about the beta blockers and what they do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_blocke...

Yes you can ejaculate without an erection. But you obviously cant have sex without an erection.

A man can and does have erections while asleep. I know because I have mild ED from prostate radiation treatment. I wake up two or three time a week, very early with a full erection. However, within a minute it goes back soft. My doctor explains it saying there are two ways to have erections. By choice or while asleep. Hope this helps.

someone with heart disease and diabetes is definately more at risk for ED. You can ejaculate in your sleep and also ejaculate without getting an erection.
