Legs Really Sore after Workouts?!

Question: I've been lifting weights for about 12 months now, im used to the sore muscles the day after, and the day after that. But i push through it. Recently i switched workouts to a 5x5 strength training workout a friend recommended.(Workout A: 5x5 Squats, 5x5 Bench Press, 5x5 Bent over Rows, 3xFailure Dips, Workout B: 5x5 Squats, 5x5 Military Press, 1x5 Deadlifts, 3xF Pull ups). Alternating these every workout, working out Mon/Weds/Fri. I've been doing this for two weeks. I now hurt a lot more after the workout, doing the same weights as before, especially in my legs. After mondays workout bending my legs was ok, but uncomfortable, after wednesdays bending my legs to pick something up hurt, and now after yesterdays i can barely walk.

Does this sound normal for this type of workout? I dont want to stop to recover as this will affect my gains. And the squat is apparently the most important exercise to do hence its done every workout.

Are you stretching after every workout?
That's what doctors told me when i had this problem. literally stretch everything for 7 minutes a day (but don't for example, do one leg for an entire 7 minutes, that's bad for you). time out your day so you do a little every hour. And also, do you have access to cold water? People used to say that hot tubs were the best solution, but studies are showing that cold is almost better (this is why some marathon races end at a lake so the runners can just jumb right in!). I would say stretch more, and even stretch in cold water... and then use heat. Ibiprophen also can work wonders :) good luck!

you need to back off a little bit. You can only tare your muscles so much before it does more harm than good. Don't stop just slow it down a little bit. Try to only have one really hard day a week for a month if things get back to normal next month bump it back up to Two hard days a week. hope this helps.

a squat done EVERY work out? no way squat is a effective work out only do it once a week.if you still feel pains so much so that you cant walk your lifting too much give this a try.

when you work out your muscles actually break and tear
when it heals it hurts and they grow back stronger
you shouldnt excersise everyday because you actually take longer to get stronger
if you work out every other day or even every couple days it works much better
and as for the extreme leg pain, its normal
i do the same thing
just dont work your legs out for 3 or 4 days
and you will get much stronger than doing it every day
