I wake up 5 times a night to urinate. Is this normal?!

Question: I am a 17 year old male, 5'10, 136 lbs. I drink a lot of water during the day (about 2L) and I wake up about 5 times a night to urinate. It is so annoying! Why does it happen and is this normal?

nah, you just drink a llot of water, its fine. just try not to drink as much before you sleep, or even eat before you sleep, if you do that too. try to drink your water and get it all out of your system before you sleep and hopefully yuo wont wake up so much during the night.

i don't think that's normal...i don't even wake up once!

Thats normal. Especially if you drink alot.. try not to drink alot a few hours before bedtime, it'll minimize the chances of having to get up.

Dont drink so close to your bed time. Stop drinking like 3 hours b4 you go to bed.

You could have a prostate problem. Very rare for people your age, but nonetheless it happens. It's time to feel the cold finger of injustice.

Dude try and cut down your water intake in the evengn hours lke after 5 or 6 your body still has to process all you put into it

curtdude

No it is not normal. Your out put is far exceeding your intake.

You are VERY thin for your height and age. Do you have medical issues? You could stand to gain about 25lbs.

Have your mom take you to the doctor. It very well could be diabetes.

It's normal your body it's getting plenty of fluids and what is not needed have to come out. Plus you can help it by not drinking to much water a couple od hour before bed time.

Smile you are OK and NORMAL:o)

"Normal" would be 1 or 2 times a night.... 5 times at the age of 17?? If you were 40 it may be prostate issues....Or maybe juvenile diabetes?? I hope someone has a better answer.

Sweetie i don't want to worry you but it sounds quite likely that you could have type 1 diabetes. I would go to the doctor as soon as you possibly can to get tested, he/she will either make u do a urine sample or blood sample to test your sugar levels. If they are too high it means your pancreas isn't producing enough insulin to regulate your sugar levels, meaning you have diabetes

Urinating 5 times at night is not normal.
Go to a Physician and have it checked because that might be a symptom of Diabetes Mellitus.

if it has always been like this then it may be normal otherwise if it is recent development you should seek medical advice.
