i was in the same position once...just ask to try the others when purchasing underwear in the future, she'll understand and give u that chance......after that u'll definitely be more comfortable and it will be easy to ask for boxers instead.

Yeah I would. I've done it plenty of times as I've switched between boxers, briefs and boxer briefs. It might seem embarassing to you but they don't think anything of it really.
Tell her these are too small and uncomfortable, then tell her the kind you prefer. I'm sure she will.
uh say mom i want to wear boxers........duh or just say they're starting 2 make u feel uncomfortable or w/e or jus pick them out yourself and say you like them better
