Sperm analysis help?!
Question: Sperm analysis help!?
My husband has to have an sperm analysis done to check for fertility problems!. I have to call tomorrow and get all the info for him but I wanted to know how this is done!. He is going to a place where he has to make an appointment!. Anyone of you guys had to do that!? I am going to ask if we can get the sample at home and bring it in but I'm not sure if this particular lab will do that!. (The lab is at our local hospital about 35 minutes away) Will I be able to go with him!? My doctor mentioned that I could "help" but I think that depends on the lab!. We did this on April 1 so it's fresh in my mind!. And also, it's a lot more pressure than you think it will be so do your best to make him feel comfy (it was the middle of the day for us but I got duded up in a negligee for him--he had to come home from work and I know it stressed him)!. Best advice!? Get the collection condom from the lab!. It's much easier that way than aiming for a cup!. We tried it a couple ways but let me tell you the best is straight up sex with that collection condom and then using the pipette to pull his boys out and into the cup!. No lube is allowed so think dirty thoughts to get yourself ready for him!. Just make the appt over the phone or in person!. They will give you the collection cup and you have to pay for the condom (a special one with no spermicide)!. We were told to abstain from sex beforehand between 3-5 days but it couldn't be shorter than 3 and no longer than 5 so you have to plan it carefully!. The specimen has to be delivered within ONE HOUR of collection so if it's 35 minutes away, you might see if they have a "special room" (wink wink) for you!. You don't want a speeding ticket to delay you!. Also, I delivered the specimen so he could get back to work and I tucked it into my waistband because it has to stay as close to body temp as possible!. When you get there, they have you sign something and you turn the specimen over and that's it!. It's pretty anticlimactic, really (no pun intended)!. Then sit back and wait for results!. We were told it could be up to 10 days but in reality, the results were ready 4 days later!. Let us know your results, will you!? My DH has all great numbers except his morphology which is only 8% (should be at least 14%) but my OB says everything else should balance that out (I'm praying)!. Also, I forgot to mention, the "appointment" you have to make is so the lab tech can spend the time needed with your sample because it has to be processed quickly!. So you don't have to be at the appointment (except to drop off the sample on time)!. It's just a time slot for your sample to be analyzed!.

My husband was able to do it at home!. He just had to have the sample at the lab within an hour of producing it!. We had to call ahead of time to let them know about when to expect him!.
Keep in mind!.!.!.!.he has to have had at least one ejaculate within the past 7 days and NOT one in the past 3 days!.!.!.for the best results!. ALSO!.!.!.he cannot use any lube, water or saliva!. He should get the full amount in the cup!.

Hi, my DH was able to do it at home!. He went in and they did an exam!. Then they gave him the sample cup and said he could do it at home and bring it back within the hour (said they cant test it before an hour anyway)!. That was it, the results came in pretty quickly!. good luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
