People have a tendency to seize words and make them mean whatever they want!. Sometimes it's a matter of how they're used!. Words can have different meanings in different context!. "It rained all last week!." "Don't rain on my parade!" One uses rain literally, the other figuratively!. Whether rain means water precipitation or just spoiling a happy time, both meanings are "real!."

Whether "gay" just means happy and carefree or homosexual or just something to be made fun of depends on how it's being used!. Context is everything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Originally meant "happy" or pleasant!. Was taken by the homosexual community some years back as a word to describe primarily homosexual males, hence the usual linkup Gay/Lesbian with lesbian being the term for homosexual females!.
Too often, Gay is used in a derogatory sense, as in "that's gay" or "you're gay" to describe an effiminate action or even a bisexual male!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
