I figured i had a couple minutes to spair an the a/c felt really good because its hot out, so i put my seat back, turned on the radio and accidently fell asleep!.!.With my truck running!. I was asleep for about an hour an a half an i burned about a 1/2 tank of gas lol!. Anyway, i wake up an i kinda feel weak like i dont wanna get up an kinda sick to my stomach, after thinking about it for a minute i realize i probably have carbon monoxide poisoning, so i turned off my truck and took a walk down the block away from all the fumes, i still feel kinda weak!. Answers:
when you breather carbon monoxide, it is very bad for the body, as it deprives the blood of oxygen (as other answerers stated above)!. the actual process takes place in your red blood cells!. origiinally your red blood cell contain a substance calle haemogloblin, which forms oxyharmoglobin, in order to carry the oxygen around the body!. when the red blood cell comes to its destination, it gives up the oxygen to form heaomoglobin again, and carries carbon dioxide away in the form of carboxy hemoglobin, and releases the carbon dioxide in the lungs, returning back to hemoglobin!.
however, when carbon monoxide is introduced it spells bad news for the hemoglobin!.
the carbon monoxide then bonds to the hemoglobin, and it bonds permanently, making the cell useless for delivering oxygen!.
therefore, the only way to get rid of this is to basically wait for a while, while being careful!. red blood cells get replaced every two weeks, so in that amount of time you should be ok!. but considering your exposure time, i would probably take care for longer!.
do not worry, you will be good as new (lliterally) within a few weeks!. just do not breathe more Carbon monoxide in during your recovery!.

hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

It will go away soon enough, the only way it can cause long term damage is if the poisoning reached a very advanced point that is near to death!. In that case the lack of sufficient oxygen can cause permanent damage to the brain!.

To be able to walk about after this, your level of poisoning was not very high!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Carbon monoxide displaces the oxygen in your body, that's what kills you, you can't get oxygen to your organs!. If you have been exposed to a high dose then you need air!. Try taking deep breathes of air to help draw the freah air into your lungs and blood!. The effects of the carbon monoxide will dissapate soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you breathe in high oxygen content air, the carbon monoxide will be displaced from your hemoglobin!. It's a good idea to try to get some medical attention!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wait a day or so and if it doesnt go away, go see a doctor ASAPWww@Answer-Health@Com
