Question: How much does it take for sperm to be sterilized from an accidental X-Ray exposure!?
Does it take more than one time or could just one time of exposure kill them off!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Are you talking about diagnostic, medical exposure to the testicles!? If so, the doses used in medical x-rays are too low to affect sperm production:

"Results of studies in small animals show that acute exposure to x rays of about 200 rad or more can result in reduction in sperm production!. Diagnostic x-ray procedures usually involve doses of the order of a few rad!. Diagnostic x ray is not known to affect sperm production!."

"A single abdominal x ray will expose the testes to under 0!.01 rad (rad is an abbreviation for "radiation absorbed dose")!. Reference texts (Mettler and Moseley 1985; BEIR 1990) estimate the radiation dose necessary to cause temporary sterility at about 15 rad and to cause permanent sterility from 300 to 500 rad!. They also note that any reduction in sperm count might not be evident for one to two months and the higher the dose, the longer the reduction in sperm count will last!."

An x-ray to the groin area will kill off your sperm for a little while!. Never fear, though, you produce a few billion of the little fellas a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
